The alumni of any institution forms the first connect between the institution and the professional world.
The members of the alumni are the brand ambassadors of the institution who carry with them the experiences beyond the academic discipline.
The alumnus of Nehru Homoeopathic Medical College comprises of its grdautae students, post graduate students and staff members. Founded in 1992,
the NHMC Alumni is the link between the past, present and the future of the college.
The NHMC alumni was first founded under the aegis of the then Principal, Dr VK Gupta along with Dr RK Varshney, Dr Hari Singh,
Dr Prabhat Maheshwari, Dr AK Chhiber, Dr Mridula Pandey, Dr Mohinder Kumar and Dr V K Khanna.
The initial years did not see many activities by the alumni association.
The association was subsequently registered in 2005 as a Society under the Societies Registration Act, XXI of 1860 (Punjab Amendment) Act, 1957,
as extended to the Union Territory of Delhi with Dr. V.K. Gupta, Dr. R. K. Varshney, Dr. V.K.Khanna, Dr. Ashok Thapa, Dr. R. K. Manchanda,
Dr. Surender Verma, Dr. Hari Singh, Dr. Sudhir Kumar Sharma, Dr. Vivek Rajpal and Dr. Bipin Jethani as executive members.
The meeting of the first executive committee was held on 1st December 2004, where in several key decisions were taken to pave way for the alumni forward, including managing of accounts of the association and forming social and academic activities by the association.
The association organizes CME programmes each year where members of the association and other professionals get an opportunity to participate. Usually these CMEs are small sessions held on Weekends to enable practitioners to attend and discuss the topics of interest with others.
Where the members form a strong connect with each other, the annual get together brings together past friends and long lost batch mates. This annual get together is organized within the premises of the college on third Sunday of December each year. Two batches, those completing 35 years and 25 years in the institution are felicitated by the association.
The meritorious students of the college are also felicitated by the association. It is aimed that the associations forms itself into a strong body where positive relationships within the alumnus benefit them socially, academically and professionally.
